Radmyx - New Construction

Radmyx as an Admixture
Improved Concrete Properties
When used as an admixture Radmyx improves the properties of concrete. In a regular 100mm (+/-20mm) slump, 32MPa concrete strength is improved by 17.5% at 28 days and shrinkage is reduced by 10.5% at 56 days. Most other properties remain the same however there is an approximate 2-hour delay in set that should be factored in to the finishing operation.

Permeability Reduction
Radmyx Admixture delivers a 93% reduction in permeability . The fact that Radmyx crystals are distributed throughout the whole section realises maximum protection.

Dosage:
Radmyx powder is added to the batch plant at rate of 1.5% of the binder content. That is Cement + Fly-Ash/Slag (Type "C" fly-ash only - No Type "F") to a maximum of 6kg per cubic metre.

Applications:
Basement walls, floors, lift pits, water holding vessels, tunnels, culverts

NOTE:

  • Radmyx Admixture is only suitable for below ground applications or where there is insulation from thermal stress. Radmyx forms crystals that are rigid in cracks, pores and capillaries. Major cracking and honeycombing will require using Radmyx as a repair material - see next section.
  • Concrete mix batches vary from place to place. Always undertake a trial mix to determine initial and final setting times.

Radmyx as Dry Shake
Radmyx can be used as a dry shake material broadcast on to slabs on ground at 0.8kg per Sqm and worked into the surface during the finishing operation by helicopter.Testing: Undertaken by CSIRO Div. Building , Construction & Engineering. A copy of the actual report is available from Radcrete.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Basements , Ground Slabs , Tunnels, Lift Pits, Foundations, Diaphragm Walls , Water Holding Vessels, Wastewater Structures, Retaining Walls, Dams, Canals, Swimming Pools.
